If your doctor is unable to discover the cause or to rule out other digestive diseases,  the choice of performing a sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy then comes next.  With this, they will be able to put a hollow tube, similar to a proctoscope in your rectum area as well as colon.  They will then be able to examine not only the frontal area of this, but also the inner intestine area.  If there is another problem, doctors can use this tool to see what is happening to cause the bleeding and discomfort.
