Natural Treatments for Hemorrhoids

If you are suffering from severe pains and irritations that are caused by hemorrhoids, you may be looking for some natural treatments to ease the problem.  Knowing how to treat hemorrhoids naturally is important when discovering the different methods of getting rid of hemorrhoids.  By knowing what is available to help with treatment, you can begin to get rid of the pains and irritation.

The major treatment that is used for those with hemorrhoids is a change in diet.  If you are looking into an herbal cure, one choice is bioflavonoids.  These increase strength in the blood vessel walls and decrease the swelling and inflammation in the blood vessels.  A second herb that has proved effective is witch hazel.  The astringent will stop the bleeding, swelling, and start relieving pain.

Two other herbs commonly used are butchers broom and horse chestnut.  These have been used traditionally for hemorrhoids and varicose veins.  They are best used if the hemorrhoids are related to poor circulation.  They will first shrink the swollen tissue around the veins and then move into the blood vessels to cause a stronger vessel.  Butchers broom, as well as horse chestnut, can be found as a tea or a supplement in a health food store.

If you are interested in using an ointment for your hemorrhoids, you may also want to try chamomile or calendula.  Finding the cause of your hemorrhoids will make a difference in the natural treatment that you decide to use.  Before deciding on a natural treatment, you should make sure your problem is hemorrhoids, and not another digestive disease.  After you know what is causing your hemorrhoids, you can then choose what natural treatment is best.  This will help you to move past your pains and problems that are related to hemorrhoids.

Natural herbs and cures may be tried before seeing a doctor.  Herbal remedies ease the pain of an occasional flare-up.
